Assessment
Students are assessed through out the unit in a variety of ways, some of them traditional: quizzes, tests, lab notes, presentation rubrics and formal essays. The most compelling assessment event is also a community event: an "academy awards" night where a panel of professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, the media industry, or drug prevention groups critiques the videos. Assessment rubrics for the research paper, video, brochure, and digitial portfolio may be found in the Appendices.
