HTHCV
In the south bay, High Tech High Chula Vista sits on a spacious open campus that boasts scenic views of the canyons of the Otay Valley. Students and teachers are inspired by the beauty of the nature that surrounds them as they work to create projects that connect their learning to the environment, to the community and the world beyond the classroom walls.
Students are admitted to HTHCV through a randomized lottery acceptance system, creating a school with a continously diverse student population. Virtually every south bay community is represented throughout grades 9 - 12 and a variety of students also attend HTHCV from several surrounding areas of San Diego county.
High Tech High Chula Vista opened in the fall 2007 with approximately 150 9th grade students with the goal of serving San Diego's South Bay and beyond. It is one of the first two schools opening under the California Statewide Benefit Charter that was awarded to High Tech High in 2006.
