Allison Cuttler teaches 11th grade math at High Tech High Chula Vista. She holds a B.S. from Haverford College and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from UC San Diego. Allison is earning her teaching credential in the High Tech High Teacher Intern program.
Elika Dadsetan taught 11th grade humanities at High Tech High International. She attended college at UC San Diego, majoring in Political Science and Sociology. She also holds a law degree from the University of San Francisco.
Ben Daley is the Chief Academic Officer and Chief Operating Officer for HTH schools, and a founding faculty member of the HTH Graduate School of Education. Previously, he taught physics and robotics and served as the School Director at High Tech High. Ben graduated from Haverford College with a B.S. in Physics and teaching credentials in both physics and math. He holds an M.A. in Science Education from UC Santa Barbara.
Brian Delgado teaches 9th grade math and physics at HTH International, where he is a founding staff member and former Dean of Students. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and is now pursuing an M.Ed. in School Leadership at the HTH Graduate School of Education.
Michael B. Horn is the co-founder and Executive Director of Education of Innosight Institute, a not-for-profit think tank devoted to applying the theories of disruptive innovation to problems in the social sector. He is the coauthor of Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns (McGraw-Hill: June 2008). He earned his M.B.A from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Yale University.
Jean Kluver is Director of Development for Explorer Elementary Charter School in the High Tech High Village. Jean has worked with foundations, non-profits, and community-based organizations and has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Wheelock College, and Tufts University. She holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and an M.C.P. from MIT.
Kristin Komatsubara teaches 6th grade math and science at High Tech Middle North County. Prior to that she taught math and science in Burbank for three years. Kristin holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Southern California, and an M.Ed. in Curriculum Design from UC San Diego.
Sara Morgan is a 6th grade dissemination grant teacher at High Tech Middle Media Arts. She graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2006 with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She has previously taught preschool and lower elementary grades.
Nicole Pack teaches 11th grade mathematics at High Tech High International. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and earned an M.A.T. and mathematics credential from the University of Southern California.
Spencer Pforsich teaches English at Oregon High School in Oregon, WI. Prior to that he taught 10th grade Humanities at High Tech High. He holds a credential from the University of San Diego, a B.A. in Literature/Writing from UC San Diego, and an M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership from the HTH Graduate School of Education.
David Price is a consultant, project leader and public speaker, working mainly in education. He recently led the Musical Futures project, which challenges long-held assumptions about how we learn and is now transforming musical experiences for kids in a number of countries. He now leads Learning Futures, a project that fosters new approaches to engaging and developing young minds in school and beyond.
Marc Shulman teaches 7th grade math and science at High Tech Middle. He has also taught at High Tech Middle Media Arts and in Washington DC and Maryland. Marc holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an M.Ed. from the HTH Graduate School of Education.
Janna Steffan is a 3rd grade French immersion teacher at the Language Academy in San Diego. She has also lived and taught in Canada and Japan. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University and is now in the Teacher Leadership M.Ed. program at the HTH Graduate School of Education, where she is conducting action research on the effect of literature circles on student engagement.
Dan Thoene teaches 8th grade mathematics at High Tech Middle. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a major in Communications and a minor in Mathematics, and worked as a sportscaster for 11 years prior to teaching. He earned a multiple subject credential and single subject credential in mathematics at San Diego State University. He is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in School Leadership at the HTH Graduate School of Education.
Karl Wendt teaches 12th grade Engineering at High Tech High Media Arts. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Design from Auburn University and an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University. Prior to coming to HTH, Karl worked as an industrial designer and product design consultant.
