Issue 7: Contributors


Pam Baker teaches English at HTH International. She has taught at Mesa College, Palomar College, UC Davis, and Sacramento City College. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership at the HTH GSE.

John Bosselman teaches humanities at HTH Chula Vista. He is advisor to the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance, co-advisor of the CrASH Drama program, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in School Leadership at the HTH GSE. 

Parag Chowdhury teaches biology at HTH North County. As a post-doctoral fellow at the Scripps Research Institute, he studied the sub-cellular architecture of neurons.

Alicia Crump teaches math/science at High Tech Middle North County. A licensed civil engineer, her work experience includes residential structural design, project management, and city planning.

Eleanor Duckworth is Professor of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and President of the Board of Critical Explorers: www.criticalexplorers.org. She is a performing modern dancer.

Lillian Hsu teaches humanities at High Tech Middle Media Arts. She recently earned her M.Ed. in School Leadership at the HTH GSE. She was a founding teacher at Unity High School in Oakland, CA from 2003-2008.

Cindy Jenson-Elliott teaches science grades 1 - 8 at the Child’s Primary School. She is a freelance educational writer, as well as a garden and environmental educator.

Brittany Joslin joined the HTH family in 2009 as an Academic Coach and is now completing her first year as a math teacher at High Tech High.

Jenny Morris teaches biology at HTH Chula Vista. She brings to her teaching a passion for students, the ocean, the outdoors and travel.

Randy Scherer teaches humanities at HTH Media Arts. He holds an M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership from the HTH GSE, where his action research focused on what makes internship experiences meaningful for students.

Noah Schlottman is a junior at HTH Media Arts. He completed his internship at the Center for Human Development at the University of California, San Diego.

Eusebio Travis Sevilla teaches art at HTH North County. Besides art he loves bicycling, surfing, rock-climbing, skateboarding, playing video games, fixing stuff, movies, good books, science, and organic produce.

Dave Stahnke teaches math at HTH Media Arts. Before that he worked at the Mineral Physics Institute, where he performed theoretical calculations of the high-pressure behaviors of deep earth minerals.

Laura Webber is the Upper School Technology Coordinator and Computer Science teacher at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD. Prior to getting good at “computer stuff,” she taught English for 12 years.
