Upcoming Events:

Nothing from Sunday, May 16th to Sunday, May 15th.

HTH Family,
I hope all of you had a great holiday week.  We have been faced with so many obstacles this year and we applaud all of you for your resilience each and every day!  The  CIF state office released an update concerning sports. Also attached is our CIF San Diego Section release from our Section President.  Season 1 Sports were originally supposed to start Dec 12, but as announced yesterday, the start date has been postponed to no earlier than January 1. Boys’ volleyball was also postponed from season 1 to season 2.
We have been challenged since this whole pandemic started and now is the time to push through and continue to do what we can to keep each other safe and healthy.  I know this is not the email you wanted to receive and that it is disappointing all around. We know that strength of character, resilience, perspective-taking and learning to stay positive in the face of unmet expectations are lessons often learned through pain and disappointment. My hope is that our athletes and families will be stronger when we get to the other side of COVID-19.
I’m here for all you!  Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions or concerns.

Michal Lynn O’Kelley,

HTH Director of Athletics and Wellness

Will we compete in CIF this year?

No, we will not compete in CIF this year. We are applying to have our school approved to compete in CIF for the 2019-2020 school year.

How do I get cleared to play sports?

There is a certain High Tech High Mesa athletics packet that needs to be completed. Here is the link to it. Please complete this packet and get a sports physical by the first day of practice.

If we don’t have a certain sport, can I play for HTH Point Loma schools or for my neighborhood school?
No, students may not play for any of these schools. We do not have multi-school agreement with any schools through CIF. You may practice with the HTHSD teams but not compete with them.
We feel it is important to build our own culture around the sports that we have on our campus, which we will continue to build over the next four years. If we allowed every athlete to compete for other schools this year, then we will be missing out on creating our own athletics community at HTHMesa.
Surf, Archery, Flag football are the exceptions because they are not CIF sports. If you are interested in these sports, you may compete for HTHSD. Please contact the coach and e-mail me if you are interested in one of these sports.
If want to coach a team, where do I begin?
We would be so grateful if you could volunteer as a coach. All coaches have to be fingerprinted and cleared before they work with students.
Please contact the Athletic Director here if you are interested in coaching, make sure to indicate which sport.
