Hello everyone! I was born and raised in Connecticut, where I earned a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, B.A. in English, and B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) After graduating, and one too many nor’easters, I spontaneously packed up and drove across the country to my new home: sunny San Diego. I am a founding third grade teacher at HTe since its opening in 2015 and have taught third grade for most of my years here as well as fifth grade.
Alongside teaching, I’ve always gravitated towards improvement science independently, in teaching teams I’ve been a part of, and as a teacher and mentor in the Induction Program, as well as in research teams through lesson studies. I’ve seen how important small and measurable changes and cycles of planning, teaching and reflection can support student learning and teaching practice. This year I will be celebrating a decade at HTe with my dream position: Instructional Coach. I’m looking forward to growing and learning with our students, teachers and families!
