Hello! ¡Hola! Haawka!
My name is Melina Muñoz. The 2023-2024 academic year will be my 2nd year as a 3rd grade teacher at HTeCV! I joined the HTeCV community in the 2021-2022 school year as a long term substitute teacher in 2nd grade. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this amazing, caring, and welcoming community!
I am a daughter of immigrants from the states of Jalisco and Chihuahua, México. I was born and raised in Banning, California, a smaller town two hours northeast, nestled in the San Gorgonio Pass. There, I was fortunate to be in a Dual Immersion program K-6 and received a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and English!
I have now been in San Diego for ten years! I left Banning to study at UC San Diego in 2013. I graduated in 2017 with a B.S. in Psychology with a specialization in Developmental Psychology, and minors in Education Studies and Spanish Literature. In 2018 I graduated with a Master of Education and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
I have worked and supported students from PK-12 in various roles and settings since 2014. These roles have included tutor, mentor, enrichment program coordinator, preschool teacher, 2nd grade student teacher, 3rd grade dual immersion teacher, 3rd grade PBL teacher, and more.
On my free time, I love to go on walks, hike, tend to my plants, read, spend time with loved ones, and dance folklórico!
I look forward to all of the connections, community building, projects, and growth this year.
Thank you! ¡Gracias! Eyaay Ehan!
