Misa has over 18 years of teaching experience, working with students of different ages and various cultural backgrounds in both the public and private school settings. She holds a B.A. and an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of San Diego as well as a multiple subject teaching credential from National University. She recently obtained her Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential through San Marcos State University. This is Misa’s fifth year here at HTeNC, where she works as a K-2 Reading Support Teacher. She continues to be very humbled and inspired working alongside such creative and dedicated faculty and staff members as well as supportive families who are all committed to providing students with an interactive and child-centered environment. Prior to working at HTeNC, Misa taught 3rd and 4th grade at High Tech Elementary Explorer for 11 years. She feels very lucky to be part of a school culture where social emotional learning is embraced and plays an integral role in students becoming critical thinkers and caring and confident lifelong learners.
Aside from teaching, Misa loves to hike, read, watch movies, road-trip, and overall, spend quality time with her friends and family. She has three children, one who is a freshman at High Tech High Point Loma and two who are HTH graduates. Misa is looking forward to supporting the kindergarten, first, and second grade students in cultivating their love for reading!
