This page includes admissions information for all of the High Tech High elementary, middle and high schools on the Point Loma, Chula Vista, San Marcos and Clairemont Mesa campuses.
THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS
High Tech High schools endeavor to accommodate all students who apply for admission; however, because applications for admission exceed the number of spaces available, HTH uses a computerized lottery to determine admission. Spaces are allocated to form a student body that reflects the demographics of the region in which the school is located.
Interested applicants must do the following to apply:
Complete an online application for admission between October 1st and February 8th in order to be entered into the lottery for admission to an HTH school. Once you apply, you will be directed to a confirmation page where you will see a record of what was submitted, please print that page for your records. You will also receive an email confirmation. Please save this confirmation. You can log in to your account at any time to check on the status of your application. If you prefer to use a paper application, please visit one of our schools to pick one up.
- Submit required proof of eligibility for the National School Lunch Program (if applicable)
If you indicated that you qualified on your application, please send HTH the free/reduced lunch approval letter from your school district (ONLY if applicable). Proof can be emailed to email@example.com or faxed to 619-243-5045 Attn: Admissions. The letter must be received before the application deadline in order to be eligible for the statistical advantage in the lottery.

We also encourage families to participate in our student led tours and information sessions to learn more about our schools. For more information about outreach and recruitment or to invite High Tech High to participate in one of your community events, please contact the Director of Community Engagement and Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to connecting with you!
STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
HTH maintains that it is critical that all members of the HTH community respect each other’s rights, individuality, and differences. Courtesy, tolerance and mutual respect provide the platform for sharing, learning, innovation and personal development. HTH is committed to equal opportunity for all individuals in education. HTH’s programs and activities shall be free from harassment, or discrimination or bullying on the basis of actual or perceived sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ethnic group identification, immigration status or citizenship, race, ancestry, national origin, color, religion, religious affiliation, creed, mental or physical disability, and any other or any other basis protected by applicable law. HTH shall promote programs that serve to eliminate discriminatory practices in school activities.
COLLEGE SUCCESS AND RETENTION
From the outset, university is part of the discourse at our schools where faculty and students demystify and discuss college as an accessible, viable goal. HTH’s graduation requirements are aligned with the minimum entry requirements for the UC/CSU schools. IN addition to UC/CSU schools, HTH graduates have been accepted into numerous selective four-year schools in and out of the state, such as Stanford, Yale, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, New York University, Smith, Kenyon and Notre Dame.
