Alondra was born in Los Angeles and raised in San Diego. She attended San Diego State University, where she earned a BA in English and a certification in creative editing and publishing. Her passion for writing and reading led her to join the SDSU Pathways Program as a lead tutor. She helped marginalized students reach their academic goals. The program also gave her the opportunity to work with students of all ages. It taught her how to use different learning styles to meet the diverse needs of her students. She was able to continue helping students by joining the HTMM team as an Academic Coach.
