Aaron grew up in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. In 2005 he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego. He served in the Navy until 2010 as an information systems technician and a surface search and rescue swimmer. In 2010 he completed his military service and enrolled in Mesa college then transferred to San Diego State University where he earned a B.S. and M.A. in kinesiology. After college, Aaron worked as a research assistant at Naval Health Research center until 2019 researching a variety of things including the use of virtual reality for physical therapy, injury tracking and prevention strategies for military personnel, and the effects of protective equipment on physical performance. At that time he was coaching at HTH which lead him to make the switch from researcher to teacher. Aaron is dedicated to creating an equitable, student-centered space where students know that their ideas are valued and that they have something to contribute to our community. In his free time Aaron likes to hit the skatepark with his two kids, paddle board with his wife Claire, build stuff in his garage, and attend way too many concerts, also with his wife Claire.
