Brett hails from the east coast, born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Brett’s formal pk-12 learning experience was with Fairfax County Public Schools. From 2005 – 2010, Brett dualed as a scholar and an athlete at James Madison University, located in Harrisonburg, Virginia (Go Dukes!). Brett served in many education roles before taking the jump to the west coast, which included teacher, special education teacher, Systems of Support Administrator (SOSA), middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal, Athletic Director and Director of the West Potomac Academy.
Now, enough with the boring stuff and more who Brett really is! Brett is an energetic, enthusiastic and hungry educational leader who thrives on the idea of creating disruptive and innovative educational experiences for students. Brett is a relationship-first leader who deeply understands that the educational experience is achieved through amazing people (students, staff and families) over programs. He believes our collective ability to create learning spaces where everyone feels welcome, valued and heard is critical to student success. Brett is excited to join the High Tech High community and stands ready to ensure that all students feel and experience learning success at High Tech Middle!
Brett’s interests include but are not limited to: all things sports (watching and playing), alternative sports (skating, surfing and snowboarding), tattoos, music, concerts, dope t-shirts, snap-backs, designing jerseys, light reading, fitness and his favorite pup, LANY!
