Hannah was born in Temecula, California and moved to San Diego to attend UCSD. After graduating with a degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Evolution, she moved to Costa Rica to conduct research and provide rehabilitation to two and three-toed sloths. She also led citizen-science projects to get tourists and locals alike involved in habitat conservation.
She continued her work in animal rehabilitation after returning to San Diego, building a resume of experience with species ranging from mountain lions, skunks, and hawks to sea lions, seals, pelicans, and beyond. At the same time, she led adventure tours on kayaks through La Jolla, via zipline through the Safari Park, and around the San Diego Zoo on a double-decker bus.
After some time in the field, she decided to return to the classroom full-time and earned her Masters in Education, Instruction, and Curriculum Design at USD, and completed her student teaching right down the street at High Tech High International. After two years of teaching high school, she is happy to be back in the High Tech family.
In her free time, Hannah explores the outdoors with her son Kai and bunny Appa by foot, kayak, and roller skate.
