Ruth Collinot was born and raised in Southern California. After high school, she went to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she received her B.S. in Animal Science. Her passion to education the public about animals allowed her to attend Cal Poly once again to complete her credentials in Agriculture Education in 2018. Her first year of teaching was as an Agriculture Biology teacher in San Jacinto High School, where she was an advisor for their Future Farmers of America program. She then realized how much she enjoyed biology and taught her second year at High Tech High Chula Vista. This will be Ruth’s third year of teaching and is really excited to be at High Tech Middle. When she is not teaching, you can find Ruth watching movies with her Tuxedo cat and Australian Cattle dog, hiking, exercising, and looking for new nature trails to explore.
