The Zone

At High Tech Middle, we are fortunate to offer a before and after school program, free of charge to families. This opportunity is unique to the High Tech Village. We are able to provide a free program due to the After School Education and Safety (ASES) grant funding we receive. Our program is referred to as “the Zone.”

In order to enroll into our before and after school program please fill out this linked form. This form must be completed in order for your student to join our programs. Even if you were enrolled in our program last year, you will still need to fill out the enrollment form. 

In order to maintain grant funding from ASES, we must adhere to attendance requirements and ask families to support us by having their students participate fully in our program.

The hours of our AM and PM program are as follows:

Before School: 

• Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM

After School: 

• M/T/Th/F: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
• Wednesday: 1:25 PM – 6:30 PM

We also understand that due to certain circumstances some families may not be able to allow their students to participate in all hours of our program. If your student is not able to be present for both full programs (before and after school), you are required to fill out an Early Release and/or Late Arrival form so that your students’ attendance will still count towards our attendance goals. You can request a physical copy from me at school as well.

At the Zone, we run many fun clubs, workshops and activities. In the past, we have provided things like: cooking, rocket building, skateboard building, photography and more. Keep an eye out for more emails from me, letting you know what kind of activities your student(s) will have a chance to join throughout the year. We also run our sports program under ASES during our after school program. If your student(s) is not enrolled into our before and after school program they will NOT be able to stay for our programs or join any of the clubs, workshops or sports activities. Please make sure that you fill out the enrollment form.

At High Tech Middle, we believe that the Zone should be a program where students can practice collaboration, build their character, and develop skills that will prepare them for the real world.

High Tech Middle strives to provide an enriching, equitable experience for all of our students while building a warm and supportive community. We hold ourselves responsible by:

• Working with our students, not for. Our first priority is always our students and their experience in our program. We can only know what they want if we include them in the conversations. 
• Communicating often with parents, teachers and students to ensure the proper needs are being met. 
• Creating an inclusive environment that is warm and welcoming to all walks of life.
