Rose Reiken is so excited to join the team at HTM Mesa! She grew up in New York and moved to San Diego in 2021 to be closer to family and sunshine year round. Rose graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in 2020, where she studied Sociology and Urban Teaching and received her teaching credential. As a student teacher, Rose taught at the James Baldwin School, a transfer school in New York City for students who were underserved or harmed by traditional schooling. There, Rose discovered PBL as a way of teaching that helped her and her students be inclusive, creative, and innovative. This past year, Rose was a case manager at San Diego Youth Services. Outside of school, she loves to hike, explore new places (she’s been to nearly 20 countries!), and bake for her friends. Since moving to Southern California and driving more, Rose developed a deep appreciation for audiobooks, so send your best recommendations her way!
