Angie received her Bachelor’s degree in English from San Diego State University. She has taught English to every level of high school students, and has also been a reading instructor. Before joining High Tech High in 2007 as a founding teacher of the Chula Vista campus, she spent a summer teaching in Gulu, Uganda, where her passion for social justice and equity was further fueled. It was this passion for equity that brought her to High Tech High. Angie also received her Master’s in Education with an emphasis in teacher leadership from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, and is currently a doctoral candidate in UCSD & CSUSM’s joint doctoral program for Equity in Education. She is excited to serve the High Tech community as Director of Dual Language Learning, supporting teachers, EL coordinators, directors, students, families and community partners in continuing to grow rich, relevant and rigorous learning experiences for all.
