Hi everyone! My name is Annika Durinck. I was born and raised for the first 12 years of my life in the Netherlands, and moved to California with my family when I was in 7th grade. After high school, I attended Purdue University in Indiana and received my B.A. in Literature and B.A. in Sociology, with minors in Spanish and Women’s Studies, in 2019. After graduating, I spent 2 years working for a trade media website writing daily articles about the fresh produce market before deciding to follow my heart and move into education. After a few years working in an elementary school, I entered the San Diego Teacher Residency program run by High Tech High’s Graduate School of Education and completed my teaching credential in June 2024. I will be working on completing my Master’s in Education by June 2025. In my free time, I enjoy baking bread, crocheting and knitting, reading, and spending time with my two fur babies, Ella and Sorcha.
