Hello! My name is Elaine and I am so excited to be going into my second year at HTeCV as part of the Academic Support team. To start off, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am originally from San Francisco, where my family currently still lives. I moved to San Diego 6 years ago to complete my Bachelors at San Diego State University in Multiple-Subject Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Literacy and Linguistics. I completed my study abroad teaching English in Indonesia, and found a real passion for English Second Language education. After graduating, I went on to teach a semester of English in Thailand. I developed an appreciation for early childhood education, culturally responsive teaching, and play-based/project-based learning during my time abroad. Upon moving back to San Diego, I found that High Tech exemplified all of my passions beautifully. I am so grateful to be a part of this school community, and I cannot wait to continue my journey here! Outside of teaching, I enjoy anything nature related like hiking, camping, and going to the beach, cooking new recipes, traveling, fostering kittens, and listening to live music. See you around!
