I love working with elementary students and collaborating with the fantastic staff and families of HTeNC. I am looking forward to integrating science into projects for the whole school this year as the science exploratory teacher. My favorite thing about working at HTeNC is the ability to follow the interests of the students (the practice is not only great for learning- it really brings joy to teaching too!) I am a founding member of our school, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow with the school. I enjoy crafting new projects with my students that are both rigorous and fun.
I taught elementary school for ten years in Los Angeles before joining the High Tech staff. I recently added a single subject science credential to my certifications. I also hold a bilingual credential with a Spanish emphasis and a Masters in Education from UCSD. I grew up near Lake Tahoe and try to get back to the mountains as often as possible.
When I’m not at work I am almost always spending time with my family- my husband and three kids (I have a student at each North County school!) We love to travel and to be outdoors in nature together. I love to have outdoor learning adventures with my students too!

Me encanta trabajar con los estudiantes de primaria y colaborar con el personal y familias fantásticos de HTeNC. Lo que más me gusta de trabajar aquí es la capacidad de seguir los intereses de los alumnos (la práctica no sólo es ideal para el aprendizaje- realmente trae alegría a la enseñanza también!) Soy miembro fundador de HTeNC, y quiero seguir creciendo profesionalmente en mi sexto ano con la escuela. Disfruto de la elaboración de nuevos proyectos que son a la vez riguroso y divertido con mis estudiantes de cuarto grado.
Enseñé la escuela primaria durante diez años en Los Ángeles antes de unirse al personal de High Tech, incluyendo cuatro años en el cuarto grado. Tengo una credencial bilingüe con un énfasis español y una Masters en Educación de UCSD. Crecí cerca del Lago Tahoe y trato de volver a las montañas tan a menudo como sea posible.
Cuando no estoy en el trabajo estoy casi siempre pasando tiempo con mi familia- mi marido y tres hijos (mis dos hijos asisten HTeNC). Nos encanta viajar y estar al aire libre juntos. Me encanta tener aventuras de aprendizaje al aire libre con mis alumnos también!
