Hi!
My name is Madeline, but I often go by Maddy. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Wisconsin before heading out west for undergrad. I attended the University of San Francisco and obtained degrees in Environmental Studies and English. Upon graduating from USF, I promptly joined the U.S. Peace Corps. I served as an Aquaculture Extension Specialist (fancy for fish farmer) in a rural village in Zambia, Africa for two years. I fell in love with the field of education during my time in Zambia, so upon returning to the United States, I joined Teach For America to gain my teaching credential and Master’s in Education. Prior to moving to San Diego, I spent three years teaching at the middle school level in Indianapolis, Indiana.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, surfing, camping, and running! I love meeting new people and getting to know them through conversation and quality time. Please feel free to reach out any time with questions or concerns! I look forward to getting to know you!
