I spent my childhood in Sacramento before attending UC San Diego, where I majored in Human Development and minored in both Education Studies and Literature/Writing. I played on the women’s soccer team throughout my four years at UCSD, which was an amazing experience that I’m incredibly grateful for. After finishing undergrad, I earned a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education from Concordia University then spent 2 years teaching in the Bay Area while working on my teaching credential. I am absolutely thrilled to be back in beautiful San Diego, teaching and partnering with families within this wonderful High Tech community. Although I’m new to Explorer, I’ve taught in both preschool and elementary classrooms and during my undergraduate years, also student taught in middle and high school settings.
I’m incredibly passionate about child development, social emotional learning, hands-on learning experiences, and attending to the needs of the whole child. My ultimate goal is to support students in fostering a genuine love of learning and to help all students thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, gardening, going to concerts, baking, and playing with my cats (Yam, Randall, & Felix) and dog (Sasha).
