Hi! My name is Mimi Petrovich and I am a caring and dedicated teacher of young children. I believe that all children are natural learners, and I am grateful for their honest, and unfiltered perspective of their surroundings. Students thrive in a hands-on, playful environment that focuses on the whole child and my classroom environment is a reflection of this. I strive, each year, to build a strong classroom community of students that aims to create a safe space for students to gain confidence, develop empathy towards others, and reach their fullest potential.
I began my teaching journey in 2008, after receiving a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Brooklyn College. Originally from New York, I fell in love with sunny San Diego, and joined the High Tech community in 2016. I have taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade and I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing community of educators, learners, and parents/caregivers in the HTM community.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, riding my bike, hiking, traveling to new places both near and far, and spending time with family and friends.
