Mathematics is a subject rich in culture! Culturally Relevant Pedagogy (CRP) integrates students’ cultural capital into the daily mathematics curriculum. The culturally responsive classroom creates opportunities for students to socialize and grapple with the curriculum, build teacher-student relationships that are equitable and reciprocal, and encourage a community of learners rather than competitive, individual achievement. This group will dig deep into learning how to create such experiences in our very diverse mathematics classrooms.
