Despite numerous education reform efforts, national academic achievement data continues to reflect a marked disparity between culturally and linguistically diverse students and their white counterparts. More importantly, student engagement and ability to be their complete selves in an educational environment is waning. This induction crew will explore how the practice of culturally responsive and culturally sustaining pedagogy can improve instructional practices, help close opportunity gaps, increase academic success rates for historically underserved students while teaching them to excavate and elevate their intersectional identities. With a “mindsets” and “moves” emphasis, we will improve one PDSA cycle at a time!!!
