Hello HTe Family!

I’m Dr. Emily O’Neal, honored to serve as your new Director! Originally from the Midwest, I come from a big family and cherish camaraderie and togetherness—especially over deep-dish pizza! I bring two decades of experience as a teacher & school leader across D.C., Chicago, & California, and hold a doctorate with a dissertation that explored crisis leadership.

My journey began as a timid elementary reader with a July birthday until a magical teacher helped me find my footing and, eventually, my wings. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for learning and a deep commitment to helping every child feel safe, seen, and inherently worthy.

I believe relationships matter and belonging is everything. I’m excited to listen, learn, & lead—honoring what makes HTe special while dreaming forward together.

Outside of school, I’m a mom of three (Bennett, Noah, and Esme), day trip explorer, iced coffee enthusiast, & La Jolla Shores jogger.
