Hello families and students,
I am beyond excited to return to my roots in biology this year as part of the 11th Grade team at HTHCV! As a founding teacher of HTMCV, I’ve been with High Tech High since 2011—and some of you might even remember me as your 6th grade math/science teacher (surprise!).
If we haven’t met yet, I’m originally from the Midwest—Toledo, Ohio, to be exact. Go Mud Hens! My husband and I moved to San Diego many years ago for school and work, and we’ve called it home ever since. While earning my bachelor’s degree in Biology at SDSU, I also worked at the San Diego Natural History Museum, where I fell in love with the unique landscapes and habitats of Southern California.
One of my favorite teaching adventures was the opportunity to work abroad at Ascend International School in India for two years. That experience deepened my love for global learning, but San Diego has always pulled us back—and I’m thrilled to continue exploring and learning here with you all.
Outside of the classroom I’m an avid reader, runner, creative, and climber who loves to travel and make things.
Looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
