High Tech High will be opening its newest campus, HTH Mesa, in August 2018 beginning with a high school for 9th grade only.   The 20-acre, K-12 campus will be fully refurbished and remodeled over the coming months, and will be filled over a 4-5 year build-out period.

Below are some answers to questions you may have about the new HTH Mesa campus:

 

Where is the HTH Mesa Campus be located?

  • The address for the new campus is: 5331 Mt. Alifan Drive, San Diego, California 92111.
  • The new campus is be located on a twenty (20) acre parcel of land that will be refurbished with additions to outfit a campus that will house an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school.
  • Amenities on this site will include several firsts for HTH including, a regulation size soccer field, a gymnasium with seating and changing areas, an auditorium with fixed seating for 700, and a new kitchen facility.

 

When is the new High School going to open?

The projected opening date for the new high school (9th grade only) is August 27, 2018.

 

How can I enter the lottery for HTH Mesa’s 9th Grade?

As founding students, our transferring 8th graders will have leadership opportunities and feel a unique sense of ownership of our newest high school. The admissions deadline has passed for the 2018-2019 school year. If you missed the deadline to apply for the upcoming school year and would still like to be considered for a space in 9th grade at HTHM, you can apply for a second waiting pool starting July 1st.

 

When will the other K-12 grades be opened at HTH Mesa?

The build out plan for the three new schools has been designed with the ambition of pacing growth to support the development of a sound, and robust academic program and school campus culture. The proposed build out plan is as follows:

  • Year 1: 2018-2019

High School opens with 9th grade only (about 100 students)

  • Year 2: 2019-2020

High School grows to serve 9th and 10th grades

Middle School opens with 6th grade

Elementary opens with kindergarten, 1st grade and  2nd grade

  • Year 3: 2020-2021

High School grows to serve 9th, 10th, and 11th grades

Middle School grows to serve 6th and 7th grades

Elementary grows to serve K through 3rd grades

  • Year 4: 2021-2022

High School grows to serve 9th-12th grades

Middle School grows to serve 6th-8th grades

Elementary grows to serve K through 4th grades

  • Year 5: 2022-2023
