“I am originally from Rhode Island where I grew up in a big Italian family. I went to Saint Anselm College, a small school in New Hampshire and graduated in 2019 with a degree in International Relations. While I was there, I uncovered a tremendous interest in education and its intersection with equity, social justice and nearly all aspects of life. In pursuit of these passions I worked with several organizations that support the refugee population through the resettlement process, as well as a teacher’s assistant with formerly adjudicated youth and high schoolers at both traditional public schools and alternative charter schools.

As I headed into my senior year of college, I applied to get my master’s degree in education, but a trip to Phoenix, AZ brought me to André House of Arizona, a hospitality center for people experiencing homelessness, and with it brought a change of plans. Following graduation, I moved to Phoenix to join Core Staff. I was a part of a six-person team in charge of running services: showers, meals, and clothing at André House. I concluded my year with Core Staff and began working part-time on the advocacy team there while completing a part-time Americorps position teaching life skills classes to individuals transitioning out of prison. Additionally, I began my Masters in Social and Cultural Pedagogy through Arizona State University. Still, the classroom called!

Last year, I moved to California to join the fourth cohort of the San Diego Teacher Residency. I spent the school year working alongside an eighth grade humanities teacher at HTMCV while earning my teaching credential. I also graduated with my masters from Arizona State and look forward to completing my Masters of Education through the High Tech High Graduate School of Education this year.

Outside of the classroom, I love reading, baking, and running. I can often be found at the beach, in the mountains, or planning my next adventure. “
