Lisset has never met a learning opportunity she didn’t love (except for that one time in 7th grade; more on that later.) So beginning all the way back in high school, she’s worked to help foster a love of learning in students of all different ages. Over the years, Lisset has had the great pleasure of assisting new learners in reading, tutoring individuals & small groups in math, and teaching college students skills for academic success in higher education at both a rigorous university as well as community colleges.
Turning her sights to furthering her own learning, Lisset earned a Master of Public Health degree and began working in Global Health Policy only to realize how much she missed influencing change at the individual and community level. Back to the classroom! With her public health training in mind, Lisset is passionate about the sincere pursuit of equity in education through building meaningful relationships, removing barriers to access, and maintaining accountability to the community. Now, in full circle fashion, Lisset is thrilled to be at HTMNC and trying her best to make 7th grade everyone’s favorite grade ever!
