Are you hungry to learn how to create a beautiful learning environment in which students feel safe to discuss their ideas, make mistakes, and work effectively in groups? Classrooms that uphold academic safety and equity produce students who are able to move from being dependent learners to independent learners. Through this induction course we will use as a lens the practice of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy (CRP) in how to create opportunities for students to socialize and grapple with the curriculum, build teacher-student relationships that are equitable and reciprocal, and encourage a community of learners rather than competitive, individual achievement. This group will dig deep into learning how to create such experiences in our very diverse STEM classrooms.Â
