Greetings Earthlings! My name is Michael Van Bebber and I was born and raised in San Diego. I moved to San Francisco in 2014 where I began my journey in education in a small town called Tiburon in Marin County. There I worked as an Instructional Aide, Academic Coach, Special Day Classroom Aide, Paraprofessional and a 1-on-1 Aide. During summers I spent my time teaching Minecraft/Roblox coding, Stop Motion Animation, as well as running a STEAM lab. During my time in the Bay Area I quickly realized that providing equitable education, SEL learning opportunities and giving as much support as I can to students was very important to me. In 2022 I moved back down to San Diego and worked a variety of jobs (call center, school photographer, behavior technician) until I found High Tech Elementary and immediately knew this was my calling to come back to education. My favorite part of being an educator is connecting with students and helping them be confident and undeniable in who they are. In my off time I like to be silly, disc golf, play video games and cook! My favorite sports teams are the Padres, Steelers, SDFC and the Gulls. I am looking forward to becoming part of the HTH family as well as meeting all of the students this year!
