My name is Niyanina “Nina” Ross, and I am absolutely thrilled to join the High Tech Elementary community for the 2026 school year. Teaching and learning are my life’s passions; I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, an MEd in International Teaching from Framingham State University, and I am currently in the dissertation phase of my doctoral program in education. My career has been an incredible adventure that deeply shapes my perspective as an educator. Before moving to San Diego this year, my husband and I spent a wonderful year living in Hawaii, which followed nine fantastic years of teaching on the beautiful Central Coast of California. I am so excited to bring these diverse viewpoints into our school culture and embark on this collaborative growing journey with your children.Outside of the classroom, I have been happily married to my incredibly supportive husband for over 20 years. In my free time, I love to cook, travel, and play the ukulele—though there is still a lot of learning left to do there! Practicing a new instrument constantly reminds me what it feels like to be a beginner, keeping me empathetic, patient, and adaptive in my teaching style. At High Tech Elementary, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment where students feel inspired to ask big questions and embrace mistakes as steps toward growth.
