Have you heard about the natural phenomenon called the grunion run? It is when the grunion fish “runs” on the sandy shores along the coast of southern California and Mexico to lay their eggs (spawn). A class of first graders at High Tech Elementary North County in San Diego, California had many wonders about the grunion, but could not find any books with answers to their questions. The students engaged in field work and met with experts throughout this 10-week project. They wrote this book to teach others around the world about this natural wonder, the grunion.
