My name is Angélica Chacón Valdez, and I was born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, México. As a first-generation college graduate in my family, I am incredibly proud of my journey and grateful for the opportunities education has given me. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from San Diego State University.

I currently teach Spanish as a second language to 9th-grade students, a career that I truly love and feel passionate about. For me, teaching Spanish is not simply about learning vocabulary or grammar—it is about opening doors to new cultures, perspectives, and connections. I love sharing my language and culture with my students and watching their confidence and curiosity grow as they discover something new. Knowing that I can inspire others through language and learning is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Beyond the classroom, I love spending time with my husband and our two children, who are my greatest joy and inspiration. I also love traveling, discovering new places, meeting new people, and learning something new wherever I go. I believe that life is a beautiful journey of learning, connecting, and growing, and I feel incredibly grateful to share that journey with the people around me.
