Hello! My name is Melissa Martin (she/her), and I’m excited to join the HTH International community as your school psychologist! I feel fortunate to become part of such a vibrant, student-centered community, and I hope to provide a safe space for students, staff, and families to explore feelings, build strategies, and make meaningful connections. I approach my work through a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and mindfulness-based lens, believing every student brings unique strengths that can shape and support their own learning and growth.
I’m a native San Diegan, born and raised! I earned my bachelor’s degree at San Diego State University and my master’s degree, Education Specialist degree, and PPS credential in school psychology at Brandman University. I’ve worked across school districts from San Francisco to San Diego, serving students from preschool through 12th grade, for over six years. Beyond my work at HTHI, I’m a Licensed Educational Psychologist, an Assistant Professor of School Psychology and Educational Counseling at National University, and a board member of the San Diego County Association of School Psychologists.
Outside of work, I’m a proud rescue dog mom to a sweet pug mix, Salma Clementine. I also love cooking and developing new recipes, practicing yoga and Pilates, dance parties, live music, international travel, and exploring new places.
I’m looking forward to connecting with our students, staff, and families this year!
