Originally from Colorado, Katie moved to Washington, DC to earn her Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University and then worked in education policy there, before joining DC Teaching Fellows to become a classroom teacher in 2012. In 2014, Katie and her cat boarded a plane to America’s Finest City and never looked back. Joining the High Tech Middle community has been a huge privilege, and she loves being creative and bringing math and science alive in meaningful, interactive ways. In her spare time she loves to read, crochet, follow and discuss politics, and go for walks in her neighborhood.
