I recently moved to San Diego in early August and am excited to explore all that the city has to offer. This is my seventh year in education and my first year teaching third grade. Prior to this, I spent six years in Hawaii teaching first and second grade. Although I was born and raised in Long Island, New York, my years in Hawaii deeply shaped both my teaching practice and appreciation for community and culture.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Psychology, as well as my Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, from Marist University. I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment rooted in respect, kindness, and connection. My favorite subject to teach is phonics, and I enjoy supporting students as they grow into confident, enthusiastic readers. I especially value building meaningful relationships with students and their families to foster a supportive learning community.
I am excited to be part of the High Tech High Elementary Chula Vista community, where I can collaborate with colleagues and students to create meaningful, authentic learning experiences that spark curiosity and empower students to take ownership of their learning.
Outside of the classroom, I love watching sunsets, taking photos, and spending time with my dog. I also enjoy trying new coffee shops, the color yellow, and playing soccer.
