Hi! I graduated from UCSD with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Secondary Science Education. I started my HTH journey by supporting 12th-grade students at High Tech High International as an Academic Coach before pursuing my Teaching Credential/M.Ed. through High Tech High’s Residency Program as a student teacher for 10th-grade Chemistry at High Tech High International and North County. Since 2020, I have served as High Tech High’s 10th-grade Chemistry Teacher. Additionally, I support our Teacher Residency Program as a supervisor and instructor. Outside of the classroom, I’m an avid K-pop fan, a board game fanatic, a video game enthusiast, and a big sweet tooth. I spend most of my free time on the things listed above or tanning at the beach!
I teach science because I love my students. I believe every learner who enters my classroom has the right to expand their understanding of the world. As our world and society become increasingly threatened by misconceptions, I aspire to be an educator who can create a healthy and supportive environment in which students are motivated to learn the applications of the concepts outside the classroom. Teaching is more than just the transfer of knowledge. It is the art of creating a learning environment where every student feels capable of bringing their best to the table and is open to understanding the unknown. I reach my students through the practice of humanity.
