Abby was born and raised in Maryland, just north of Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Maryland, where she studied Psychology and Neuroscience. They then moved to San Diego in 2021 to pursue graduate school for clinical neuropsychology. However, through many conversations with HTMMA teachers, they discovered a passion for education and decided to apply to High Tech. Abby worked at HTHMA as an academic coach for two years and fell in love with math education. She decided to pursue a teaching credential through the San Diego Teaching Residency (SDTR), completing a one-year teaching residency at HTHMA under her mentor teacher, Annie Quinn. They are now pursuing a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning while working as the 12th grade math teacher at HTH.
Some of Abby’s hobbies include baking extravagant desserts, playing video games, reading fantasy and sci-fi, crocheting, playing soccer, and paddle-boarding. They have a 3.5-year-old orange tabby cat named Calcifer, who loves watching birds, stealing human food, and attempting to escape the apartment.
