I’m Sofia Sanchez, a mathematics educator born and raised in San Diego, California. After graduating from HTH, I went to the University of San Diego where I got my BA in mathematics, and then to Loyola Marymount University where I got my MAT in Mathematics. I was inspired by my time in high school and undergrad, and so I returned to High Tech High to teach. I have an interest in showing the beauty and sense making of mathematics through play and physical touch. I am passionate about supporting a multi-level classroom through scaffolding for diverse learners, including those who need to be challenged. I am driven by the belief that all students are capable of success in mathematics when given access and support, and exposed to meaningful learning experiences. My personal interests include yoga, exploring nature, eating, and spending time with family.
