Cheyenne Aoelua was born and raised in Southern California, growing up in the Inland Empire. She studied Political Science and Education at UCLA before moving to the East Coast, where she began her teaching journey as a 4th grade teacher in Providence. She then spent five years in Boston teaching 6th grade English and Social Studies. Now back in California, Cheyenne is excited to be part of the HTH Mesa community. She is passionate about reading as a form of resistance and self-preservation, which deeply informs her approach to teaching humanities. She’s a big foodie, loves music, and can spend a whole weekend playing video games.
