Candice Weston is originally from Valley Center, California. During her undergrad at Cal State San Marcos, she studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and completed classes for her minor in Spanish. After graduating from CSUSM with a BA in Human Development, she received an educational grant to teach abroad and return to Spain to teach for the first time. After quickly falling in love with building relationships with students and teaching, she returned and received her credential from San Diego State University. After several years in the classroom, she obtained her Masters in Education, with an emphasis in Social Justice Education from California State Fresno. She loves connecting learning with real world global issues and going out into the community to give students an opportunity to have new experiences. Outside of teaching, she loves spending time with family, especially her two young sons, Isaac and Ethan. She loves to be in nature, doing yoga, swimming and playing board games. Candice was a founding teacher when HTMM opened, and is beyond excited and honored to be teaching this school year and being a part of the High Tech Middle Mesa Community!
