A group of the finest minds at work, this Behavior Supports group is young (most of us), scrappy (all of us), and hungry (mostly just Craig and Scott). Since the beginning, we have worked tirelessly figure out what are the main factors that are impacting student behaviors in our classrooms. To this end, we interviewed, we fishboned, we digraphed, and then we initiated our PDSAs. Given our short amount of time together, ours was no doubt an accelerated course of study. As such, we worked, like we were running out of time, to develop interventions that would support the improved use of expected behaviors by our students. You might not be inclined to believe it, as no one else was in the room when it happened, but we iterated and iterated our PDSA cycles. We did so many iterations, it was as if we were never satisfied. But through these repeated cycles, we got a lot farther. Monthly meetings for accountability forced us to work a lot harder. Creating individual change ideas proved that we are self-starters. Understanding improvement science required us to be a lot smarter. And yet, we still do not profess to have all the answers. Our aim is that this work lives on with the next generation of inductees. Even though we trialed multiple change ideas, there’s a million things we haven’t done, so just you wait. Behavior is now our favorite subject. Forever, and ever and ever and ever.
