Hello everyone! I was born and raised on the west side of Washington State, and I’ve called San Diego home since 2022. I earned my B.A. in Social Justice and Cultural Studies from Seattle Pacific University, where I developed a deep commitment to equity and advocacy that continues to shape how I show up for students today. After graduating, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician and Montessori support teacher in Seattle, which showed me how powerful learning can be when tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs, and set me on the path to become a teacher.
After moving to San Diego, I joined the High Tech High family, first as a Substitute Teacher and Academic Coach at High Tech High North County, then as a Teacher Resident, where I co-designed and taught projects with the 2nd and 4th grade teams. I went on to earn my Master’s in Education at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education while teaching 4th grade at Albert Einstein Academy, gaining experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) education.
In my free time, I love cooking, hiking, exploring nature, and hanging out with friends. You can’t keep me out of the water, whether I’m kayaking, swimming, or finding shells and rocks at the beach. I enjoy relaxing in my hammock with a good book and cuddling up with my orange cat, Uzi.
I’m so excited to bring all of these experiences into my role as the STEM teacher here at High Tech Elementary Explorer!
