Hello! My name is Madison Affourtit, and I’m excited to join the High Tech High community this year as a Transitional Kindergarten Assistant Teacher. I’m originally from the Bay Area and moved to San Diego nearly three years ago. Since then, I’ve loved becoming a part of this community, and I’m thrilled to continue that journey alongside the wonderful students, families, and educators at High Tech High.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021 and my Master of Arts in Teaching, along with my California teaching credential, from the University of Massachusetts Global in 2025.

Outside of the classroom, I love to craft and create. Acrylic painting is my favorite artistic medium, but I enjoy just about anything colorful and creative. I also love spending time reading or writing at the beach or in the park. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year of learning, growing, and making lasting memories together!
