Desirae is a dedicated educator with a strong foundation in mathematics and a deep commitment to student success. A San Diego native, she was diagnosed at an early age with an Auditory Processing Disorder and a speech impediment, which led to her receiving special education services throughout elementary school. These early experiences not only shaped her resilience but also sparked her passion for supporting and empowering others through education.
Desirae balanced her academic pursuits with competitive athletics, playing softball through her youth and at the collegiate level for San Diego Mesa College. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from San Diego State University in 2019.
Her career in education began in 2017 as an after-school tutor at Abraham Lincoln High School, and she later joined Helix Charter High School, where she served for over seven years in multiple roles, including Lead Academic Coach, on-site substitute, and long-term substitute teacher. In 2023, she completed her Master’s degree and obtained her teaching credential from National University.
Desirae began her full-time teaching career at High Tech High Media Arts in the 2024–2025 academic year. She brings to the classroom a strong background in academic coaching, a student-centered mindset, and a personal commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for all learners
