Hello HTHMA! After an exciting year at HTHMA as a Teacher Resident through the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, I’m thrilled to join our community as an 11th Grade Humanities Teacher for the upcoming school year.
I was born and raised in Southern Massachusetts and attended Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where I studied Business Management and Communication. While studying, I was lucky enough to study abroad in Florence, Italy and spent a semester studying and traveling throughout Europe. I caught the travel bug and after graduating, I moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to experience life in the mountains. I eventually moved back to Boston and worked in the educational travel industry, helping teachers plan international trips for their students! While I loved the opportunity to work with teachers and travel myself, I eventually moved to San Diego in 2018 and worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry. After experiencing the pandemic, I was led back to education and my life-long appreciation for literature and social justice. I’m passionate about bringing a worldview to our classroom discussions and exploring our collective curiosities as a means of educational liberation. Outside of the classroom, you can typically find me at a coffeeshop with the 2-3 books I’m reading or on the tennis courts working on my serve.
