Victor De La Fuente is a multimedia artist, performer and arts educator. His performance work combines analog and digital forms to create plays and video art that can often blend improvisation, dance and costume. During his time as a resident artist at Space 4 Art Victor produced La Rara Noche, a queer art event series that showcased artists in San Diego and Tijuana in an effort to bridge both cities and encourage cross-border relationships with participating artists.
“I have always lived next to the border and Art has always been an access point that continues to link both sides for me. I want to continue my work in creating more opportunities and platforms for artists to create, grow and play.”
Victor studied Visual Art and Dance at UCSD and began his career as an educator teaching filmmaking and costume design in San Diego and UC Riverside. He joins the amazing team of educators at High Tech High and is thrilled to teach Multimedia Art to the Senior class.
“My biggest hope as a Multimedia teacher is to synthesize the cross-disciplinary tools I have gained in the art field and use it to give students a wider scope of possibilities that they could synthesize themselves, as they pursue their own unique creative identity.”
