Teaching has always been part of who I am. Although I grew up surrounded by educators, I didn’t truly envision leading my own classroom until I became a parent at High Tech High International, which led me into the classroom as an Academic Coach. I supported students with learning differences for two amazing years before answering the call to become a teacher.

After completing my first year as a Resident Teacher through the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, I am honored to begin this next chapter as the 11th Grade Humanities Teacher of Record. I strive to make learning fun, help students think critically, engage with diverse perspectives, and recognize their ability to shape the future. I am currently enrolled at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education working on my Masters in Education, another lifelong dream.

Before teaching history, I spent more than thirty years as a private piano instructor and performer. Music, the arts, and nature continue to inspire my approach to teaching, reminding me to foster curiosity, creativity, and wonder while ensuring every student feels seen, challenged, and valued.

Outside the classroom, you’ll most likely find me painting, playing the piano, or enjoying a nap on the beach. I treasure slow days with my husband, Craig, our son, Andreas, and Bear, our “collie from the border”. Time with them keeps me grounded and reminds me what matters most.
